MIG Wire HF350 Hard Facing 1.2mm | Hardfacing MIG Welding Wire

Premium 1.2mm HF350 hardfacing MIG wire engineered for superior wear and impact resistance on carbon and low-alloy steel components. This medium-hardness build-up wire delivers excellent compressive strength while remaining machinable "as welded" — making it a top choice for rebuilding and protecting parts exposed to metal-to-metal wear.

Key Features

  • Deposit Hardness: Approx. 350 HB (Brinell) — DIN 8555: MSG 2-GZ-350 classification
  • Wire Diameter: 1.2mm, copper-coated solid wire
  • Excellent Compressive Strength for high-load, high-impact applications
  • Machinable & Grindable — can be finished by machining or grinding post-weld, unlike higher-hardness wires (e.g. HF600) which require grinding only
  • Multi-Layer Build-Up: Can be deposited layer upon layer for significant surface build-up, and used as a buffer/underlay before finishing with a higher-hardness overlay (e.g. HF600 or HF960)
  • Crack-Resistant Deposit: Formulated for a strong, reliable bond that resists cracking under repeated impact
  • Smooth, Stable Arc for consistent bead quality and minimal spatter
  • Light Corrosion Resistance in mildly corrosive atmospheres

Recommended Applications

Ideal for hardfacing surfaces subject to moderate wear combined with severe or repeated impact, including:

  • Track links, idlers & sprockets (earthmoving/mining equipment)
  • Wheels, rollers, rolling stock components
  • Pins, journals, shafts & bushings
  • Rail and rail-related components
  • Excavator buckets, bulldozer blades & digger teeth (as a build-up base layer)
  • Agricultural wear parts — ploughshares, tillage tools, harvest blades
  • Wear plates on concrete mixers, crushers & shredder hammers

Industries Served

Mining • Construction • Earthmoving • Agriculture • Rail • Recycling • Heavy Equipment Maintenance & Fabrication

Welding Process

Suitable for GMAW/MIG welding using Ar-CO2 shielding gas mixtures, typically supplied on wire spools for use with standard MIG welding equipment.

Why choose HF350 hardfacing wire? When components need protection from both wear and impact — not abrasion alone — HF350 strikes the balance that harder, more brittle overlay wires can't. It's the go-to choice when you need a tough, machinable base layer that stands up to shock loading in demanding industrial environments.
