Binzel MB EVO PRO 501 D MIG Torch – 4m, Liquid-Cooled
The Binzel MB EVO PRO 501 D is a 550 amp liquid-cooled MIG/MAG torch built for continuous heavy production welding. It's rated at 550A on CO2 and 500A on mixed gases at a 100% duty cycle — designed to weld all day without a rest period — running 1.0–1.6mm wire, with technical data stated to EN 60974-7. This 4m version (part no. 034.0863.1) uses Binzel's WZ-2 water-cooled central connector, and is the most-specified length for manual heavy fabrication where the welder needs to move around the job.
The step up from air-cooled isn't just amperage. Where an air-cooled torch like the MB 36 gives you 320A at 60% duty, this gives you 550A at 100%, and that changes what's possible: heavy structural fabrication, thick-section multi-pass work, shipbuilding, mining equipment repair, and anywhere metal is going down continuously rather than in bursts. Coolant circulating through the front end pulls heat away from the contact tip and nozzle, so consumables last significantly longer at high current than they would on an air-cooled torch pushed to its ceiling.
Binzel redesigned the cooling circuit and material combination on the liquid-cooled EVO PRO torches. The cooler front end extends wear part service life and gives genuine performance reserves for high-amperage work.
At 4m the cable assembly carries coolant lines as well as power, gas and control, so build quality in the hose package matters. Binzel uses flexible high-performance media hoses with a protective braid, which keeps the package manageable in the hand rather than fighting you. The two-component handle has a tapered profile, optimised trigger position and ball-joint cable support so the torch stays balanced in any position, with more internal space than the previous generation for easier servicing.
Requires a water cooler. This torch cannot be run dry — it must be connected to a working coolant circuit, either your machine's integrated cooler or a standalone unit.

Frequently asked questions
What amperage is the Binzel MB EVO PRO 501 D rated to?
550A with CO2 and 500A with mixed shielding gases, both at a 100% duty cycle. The rating is the same across all three lead lengths.
Do I need a water cooler to run this torch?
Yes. It's liquid-cooled and must be connected to a working coolant circuit — either a machine with an integrated cooler or a standalone cooling unit. Running it without coolant will damage the torch. Use a proper welding coolant rather than plain water; straight water corrodes the circuit and won't survive a cold morning in an unheated shed.
Will it fit my welder?
It uses Binzel's WZ-2 water-cooled central connector, so your machine or wire feeder needs a water-cooled Euro outlet with coolant lines. It will not fit a standard air-cooled Euro (KZ-2) socket. If you're not sure what your machine has, give us a call with the model number.
Should I get the 3m, 4m or 5m?
4m is the usual choice for manual heavy fabrication — enough reach to work around a large weldment without repositioning the machine. Go to 3m for a fixed bay or automated cell where the machine sits close to the work, 5m only when you genuinely need the reach. Bear in mind a liquid-cooled package is heavier per metre than air-cooled, since the coolant lines run the full length.
Does the longer lead affect coolant flow?
Not meaningfully at 4m with a correctly specified cooler. What matters more is that the cooler's flow rate and pump pressure suit the torch, and that the coolant is clean and topped up. A restricted or low circuit will cook the front end regardless of lead length.
What's the difference between the 501 and the 501 D?
Two variants of the same liquid-cooled torch with different front ends and part numbers. The plain 501 is rated slightly higher (575A CO2 / 525A mixed) while the 501 D runs a contact tip holder system that accepts M6 and M8 tips, giving more flexibility across wire sizes. [verify — worth confirming with Binzel before publishing]
What wire sizes can I run?
1.0mm to 1.6mm. This is a heavy-wire torch — if you're mostly running 0.8–1.0mm, an air-cooled MB 36 is the more sensible buy.
