Lincoln Electric Dual Maverick® 450 (Perkins®) — Diesel Engine-Driven Welder/Generator
The Lincoln Dual Maverick 450 is a diesel engine-driven welder/generator that runs two independent welding arcs from one engine. Two operators can each weld at up to 225A, or one operator can switch to single mode for up to 450A at 100% duty cycle. It handles stick, TIG, MIG, flux-cored and carbon arc gouging with rods up to 9.5 mm, and supplies on-board auxiliary power for tools and lighting. It is powered by a 26.4 hp Perkins® 403D-11 water-cooled diesel and is built for construction sites, pipelines, mining and hire fleets.
Two welders, one machine to maintain
Running two operators from one engine means one machine to transport, fuel, service and tag. A crew that would normally tow two single-operator units to site can do the same work with one Dual Maverick, which saves trailer space, fuel and servicing costs.
Made for Australian site conditions
- Quieter operation: Engine speed adjusts to the welding load, and the machine runs at 69 dBA at low idle (measured at 7 m). That makes it easier for crews to hear instructions and warnings near the machine.
- Fuel savings: Variable RPM and auto start/stop shut the engine down after a set period without welding. It restarts when the electrode touches the work.
- Operator safety: Voltage Reduction Device (VRD) for both operators, compliant with AS 1674.2 Category C for welding in hazardous environments [verify for K4381-2 — confirmed on the earlier AU model K4393-1].
- Simple controls: Two heavy-duty 4.3" weatherproof LCD screens handle setup, and built-in maintenance reminders help protect engine life.

Auxiliary power
The machine provides up to 13 kW of continuous three-phase and 10 kW of single-phase auxiliary power, enough for grinders, lighting, pumps and small compressors. Available auxiliary power drops while welding. On Australian construction sites, anything powered from the generator must meet AS/NZS 3012 requirements, including RCD protection [verify whether aux outlets are RCD-protected from factory].
