KEMPPI X5 POWER SOURCE 500 PULSE WP

by Kemppi
Part No: X5130500010

Kemppi X5 FastMig Power Source 500 Pulse WP

Product Description

The Kemppi X5 Power Source 500 Pulse WP is a 500 A multi-process power source built for high-output industrial welding of steel, stainless steel, and aluminium, delivering manual, synergic, pulse, and double pulse MIG/MAG welding with a 60% duty cycle at full output. Designed and manufactured in Finland alongside professional welders, it's the pulse-capable flagship of the X5 FastMig platform, built to hold weld quality steady through long production runs, heavy fabrication, and multi-shift workshop use.

This WP (Work Pack) variant ships standard with the X5 Work Pack Pulse, giving welders 54 pre-loaded welding programs plus the WiseSteel and WiseFusion special processes for cleaner arc starts, reduced spatter, and better control on thin and out-of-position work. It's also compatible with the full MAX process family and WisePenetration, so the machine can be tuned to the job rather than the operator working around the machine's limits. Note that in robotic welding applications, TIG and MMA processes are not available.

As a cobot-capable power source, the X5 500 Pulse WP integrates with Kemppi's digital connectivity module and the Cobotics app, and links into WeldEye ArcVision for production insights and dWPS-enforced welding procedure compliance — useful where QA documentation and repeatable WPS adherence matter as much as the weld itself. A top-loading wire feeder design keeps heavy wire spool changes ergonomic and safer across all working positions. A 5-year warranty is available through end-user registration in Kemppi's MyFleet service.

  • Top-loading wire feeder – ergonomic, safer heavy spool changes in any working position
  • 3-phase power input – 380–460 V ±10%

Ideal Applications

  • Heavy industrial fabrication (steel, stainless steel, aluminium)
  • High-duty-cycle production MIG/MAG welding
  • Multi-process workshops requiring MIG/MAG, TIG (DC), MMA, and gouging from one platform
  • Cobot and automated welding cells (MIG/MAG only — TIG/MMA unavailable in robotic use)

Frequently Asked Questions

What welding processes does the X5 500 Pulse WP support? Manual, synergic, pulse, and double pulse MIG/MAG welding, plus DC TIG, MMA, and gouging. It's also compatible with the full MAX process family and WisePenetration.

What does the "WP" in the model name mean? WP denotes the X5 Work Pack Pulse, a bundled package of 54 pre-loaded synergic welding programs that ships as standard with this model.

Is this machine suitable for robotic or cobot welding? Yes, it's cobot-capable and integrates with Kemppi's digital connectivity module and Cobotics app. Note that in robotic welding applications, TIG and MMA processes are not available — only the MIG/MAG processes apply.

What's the difference between this model and the X5 Power Source 500 Pulse (non-WP)? Both deliver the same 500 A/60% duty cycle output and pulse/double pulse capability. The WP variant adds the X5 Work Pack Pulse (54 programs) as standard, where the base Pulse model does not include this program pack.

What power supply does it need? 3-phase input at 380–460 V ±10%.

Does it support production and quality documentation? Yes, through WeldEye ArcVision integration, including the dWPS function which ensures welding procedure specifications are followed exactly during production.
