The Hypertherm Powermax 45XP/65/85/105 Retaining Cap #220854 was designed for the Hypertherm Powermax 45XP, Hypertherm Powermax 65, Hypertherm Powermax 85, and Hypertherm Powermax 105.

A retaining cap is essential for a plasma cutter because it keeps the swirl ring and nozzle in the right position, controlling the flow of coolant to the outside of the nozzle. The nozzle’s front composite piece is key to properly installing the shield concentric onto the nozzle orifice. This permits the nozzle to direct secondary gas to the shield. If it doesn’t function adequately due to poor positioning, your Hypertherm Powermax 45XP, Hypertherm Powermax 65, Hypertherm Powermax 85, or Hypertherm Powermax 105 plasma cutter will deliver lower quality cuts.
