CIGWELD Arcmaster XC80 Auto-Darkening Welding Helmet
The CIGWELD Arcmaster XC80 is a premium auto-darkening welding helmet with a 104 × 104 mm viewing area, a variable shade range of 4–14 and five arc sensors that darken the lens in about 0.1 ms. The fifth sensor runs CIGWELD’s OptiShade technology, which sets the shade automatically from the light the arc is giving off. It suits welders running MIG, TIG, stick and high-amperage flux-cored work, and fabricators who switch between welding, grinding and cutting throughout the day. This version has the Fallout graphic finish.
Certified Eye Protection for Australian Worksites
The XC80’s auto-darkening filter is certified to ISO 16321-2:2021, the current international standard for welding filters. It has an optical class rating of 1/1/1/1, the highest score for optical clarity, light diffusion, shade consistency and angle dependence. It is also tested to AS/NZS 1337.1 and AS/NZS 1338.1 for impact resistance and optical performance. This is the documentation a safety officer or site supervisor needs when checking PPE against Australian standards.
Key Features
OptiShade automatic shade control: A dedicated fifth sensor reads the light coming from the arc and adjusts the shade to suit. This means less time adjusting the helmet when you change process, amperage or material.
Shade 4–14 in half-shade steps: The range goes up to shade 14 for heavy flux-cored and high-amperage work. The 0.5 increments let you set the darkness to suit your eyes rather than settling for the nearest whole number.
Large 104 × 104 mm viewing area with side windows: The main lens is one of the largest in its class. Two shade 5 passive side windows widen your view of the job. Covers for the side windows are included if you prefer a narrower field of view.
Ultra View true-colour lens: Colours look more natural through the lens, so it’s easier to read the weld pool, see the joint edges and track your bead.
Gradual Mode: The lens fades from dark to light gradually rather than snapping back. This reduces eye fatigue across a long shift and over repetitive tack welds.
Nine memory profiles: You can save up to nine combinations of shade, sensitivity and delay. This is useful when one welder runs several processes or a helmet is shared on a crew.
External control module: Weld, grind and cut modes, plus shade, sensitivity and delay, are all adjusted with an analogue control on the outside of the shell. You don’t need to take the helmet off.
Bluelight cover lens: An optional cover lens that improves contrast and reduces eye strain.
Solar assist power: Solar cells extend battery life, and the batteries can be replaced by the user.

Frequently Asked Questions
What shade range does the Arcmaster XC80 cover?
It covers shades 4 to 14 in half-shade steps. That handles everything from low-amperage TIG through to high-amperage flux-cored welding, and the shade 4 setting is used for grinding.
What is OptiShade on the CIGWELD XC80?
OptiShade is CIGWELD’s automatic shade technology. A fifth arc sensor measures the light from your weld and sets the shade for you. You can still adjust it manually.
Does the Arcmaster XC80 meet Australian standards?
Yes. The filter is certified to ISO 16321-2:2021 and tested to AS/NZS 1337.1 and AS/NZS 1338.1 for impact resistance and optical clarity.
How big is the XC80 viewing area?
The main lens is 104 × 104 mm. Two shade 5 side windows give you extra peripheral vision.
What batteries does the XC80 use?
It uses solar assist with two replaceable lithium coin-cell batteries, so the helmet doesn’t need to be replaced when the batteries run down.
Is the XC80 good for grinding?
Yes. Grind mode is selected from the external control module, so you can move between welding and grinding without taking the helmet off.
