Abicor Binzel Flexible Extraction Funnel with Magnetic Base
Overview
The Abicor Binzel Flexible Extraction Funnel with Magnetic Base is a moveable extraction nozzle for high-vacuum welding fume extraction units, including the Binzel FEC and xFume series. Where an on-torch nozzle or a fixed extraction arm capture fume from a set position, this funnel gives you a hands-free, repositionable capture point: the magnetic base holds it to any ferrous surface near the weld joint, and the flexible hose neck lets you aim the funnel exactly where fume is rising — useful for jobs where the extraction arm can't get close enough, or where the weld line moves and needs regular repositioning.
Connected to a compatible high-vacuum extraction unit, it supports the kind of source-capture local exhaust ventilation (LEV) that helps meet AS/NZS ISO 21904 and Australia's tightened welding fume Workplace Exposure Standards (WES).
Key features
- Magnetic base — mounts hands-free to any ferrous metal surface near the weld joint, freeing up the extraction arm or the welder's second hand
- Flexible hose neck — bends and holds position, so suction can be redirected as the weld line moves
- Funnel-shaped intake, shaped to maximise airflow capture of fine particulate, dust and weld fume before it reaches the breathing zone
- Connects to standard high-vacuum extraction hose for straightforward fitment to compatible systems
Specifications
| Spec | Detail |
|---|---|
| Manufacturer | Abicor Binzel |
| Part number | 601.0016.1 / 601.0016 |

Compatibility
Designed for use with high-vacuum welding fume extraction units, including the Abicor Binzel FEC and xFume series. Connects to standard high-vacuum extraction hose.
Typical applications
Awkward or tight-access welding joints, fabrication work where the weld line shifts position, and any setup where a torch-mounted or fixed-arm extraction point can't get close enough to the fume source.
Frequently Asked Questions
What's the difference between this funnel and an on-torch extraction nozzle? An on-torch nozzle (like those on the xFume Pro 24) captures fume right at the torch as you weld. This funnel is a separate, repositionable capture point you place near the joint with its magnetic base — useful when a torch-mounted nozzle isn't fitted, or as an extra capture point for hard-to-reach areas.
Does the magnetic base work on any surface? It mounts to ferrous (magnetic) metal surfaces near the weld joint. It won't hold to non-ferrous materials such as aluminium or stainless steel with low magnetic permeability.
What extraction units is this funnel compatible with? High-vacuum fume extraction systems including the Abicor Binzel FEC and xFume series, via a standard high-vacuum extraction hose connection.
Can the hose neck be repositioned during welding? Yes — the flexible neck bends and holds its position, so suction can be redirected as the weld line progresses without needing to reset the whole setup.
