Product Description:
ABRASOCORD 700 is a premium hard-facing (hardfacing) welding electrode engineered to deposit a high-chromium, wear-resistant alloy layer on components subjected to severe abrasion, impact, and metal-to-metal wear. The 3.2mm diameter size makes it ideal for medium-thickness build-up and surfacing applications across mining, construction, agriculture, cement, and earthmoving industries.
Key Features:
- Diameter: 3.2mm (also commonly available in 4.0mm, 5.0mm)
- Deposit Hardness: Typically 55–60 HRC (as-welded, single layer) — check datasheet for exact grade specification
- Coating Type: Basic/rutile hardfacing coating for smooth arc stability and easy slag removal
- Weld Position: Suitable for flat and horizontal positions
- Number of Layers: Best performance achieved with 2–3 layers
- Deposit Type: High-chromium carbide alloy providing excellent resistance to abrasive wear, low-to-medium impact
Typical Applications:
- Bucket teeth, edges, and lips (excavators, loaders)
- Crusher hammers, jaw plates, and cone liners
- Dredge pump parts and slurry components
- Auger flights and screw conveyors
- Sugar mill rollers, cement mixer blades
- Earth-moving and mining equipment subject to sliding/abrasive wear
Benefits:
- Extends service life of wear parts, reducing replacement frequency
- Cost-effective alternative to replacing entire components
- Easy-to-use electrode with stable arc and minimal spatter
- Delivers a crack-resistant, dense weld deposit suited for abrasion-heavy environments
Packing: Available in standard 5kg cartons
Storage: Store in a dry place; use a rod oven/holding oven if electrodes have been exposed to moisture, per standard hardfacing electrode handling practice.
