FRONIUS FORTIS 320 COMPACT PULSE SH

by FRONIUS
Part No: 4.075.261

FRONIUS FORTIS 320 COMPACT SH

Inverter Power Source with Built-In Wire Feeder

The Fronius Fortis 320 Compact SH steps up from the 270 Compact with a higher 320A output while keeping the same all-in-one design — wire feeder and power source built into a single unit, ready to run standard synergic MIG, pulse synergic MIG, DC TIG or stick electrode straight out of the box.

Built on Fronius' Fortis platform, the 320 Compact SH is available in both gas-cooled and water-cooled configurations, giving workshops the flexibility to match cooling type to duty cycle and application. It's part of the Fortis high-housing range, with the compact all-in-one format still available where it matters most — one machine, minimal footprint, maximum process flexibility.

Cooling options Gas-cooled or water-cooled
Output Up to 320A

Gas-Cooled & Water-Cooled Options Available

The Fortis 320 Compact SH is offered in two cooling configurations to suit different duty cycles and applications:

  • Fortis 320-C SH Gas — gas-cooled configuration, suited to general fabrication and lighter to medium-duty production work
  • Fortis 320-C SH Gas/Water — water-cooled configuration for higher duty-cycle applications and extended production runs, where sustained arc time and torch cooling matter most

Water cooling can also be retrofitted to the Fortis 320 at any time, so workshops that start on the gas-cooled version aren't locked out of upgrading later as production demands change.

Why Choose the Fortis 320 Compact SH?

One machine, four processes. MIG Standard and Pulse Synergic cover general fabrication through to spatter-sensitive stainless and aluminium work, while DC TIG with Comfort Stop and gas solenoid handles precision root and sheet metal work. Add manual electrode capability and the 320 Compact SH covers most workshop welding tasks from a single power source.

Cooling to match the job. With both gas-cooled and water-cooled versions available — and water cooling retrofittable later — workshops can start with the configuration that suits current work and scale up cooling capacity as duty cycles increase.

Control at the torch. Up/Down control on the torch covers both amperage and job selection, letting operators adjust settings without stepping back to the front panel.

Faster setup, fewer errors. The Weld Wizard walks operators through parameter selection instead of relying on chart lookups or guesswork, keeping setup times down and reducing rework across multi-operator or multi-job workshops.

Built for repeatability. Four Easyjob memory slots come standard for quickly recalling common weld setups, with an optional upgrade to 999 Jobs for workshops running a wide range of materials, thicknesses or WPS requirements.

Frequently Asked Questions

What welding processes does the Fortis 320 Compact SH support? It runs MIG Standard Synergic, MIG Pulse Synergic, manual (stick/MMA) electrode, and TIG DC with Comfort Stop — all from the one integrated power source and wire feeder.

Is the Fortis 320 Compact SH available water-cooled? Yes — it's available as the gas-cooled Fortis 320-C SH Gas, or the water-cooled Fortis 320-C SH Gas/Water for higher duty-cycle applications. Water cooling can also be retrofitted to a gas-cooled unit at any time.

What is TIG Comfort Stop? Comfort Stop is a controlled TIG DC arc-stop function paired with a gas solenoid valve, allowing the operator to finish a weld cleanly and control post-flow gas coverage without an abrupt arc cut-off.

How many weld programs can be stored? The Fortis 320 Compact SH ships with 4 Easyjob memory slots as standard, with an optional upgrade to 999 Jobs for workshops that need to store a larger range of weld parameters.

Is a separate wire feeder required? No — the wire feeder is built into the power source, making this a genuine all-in-one compact package rather than a split system.

What does the Weld Wizard do? The Weld Wizard is Fronius' guided parameter setup tool, walking the operator through material, process and wire selections to set up correct welding parameters quickly without manual chart referencing.

What's the difference between the Fortis 270 Compact and 320 Compact SH? The 320 Compact SH delivers higher output (up to 320A vs 270A) and adds water-cooling capability alongside the gas-cooled option, suiting heavier-duty or higher duty-cycle applications than the 270.
