The G5-01 face seal creates a reliable positive pressure respiratory seal around the contours of the helmet and face to prevent exposure to airborne pollutants like welding fume. From there, the helmet’s exclusive airflow pattern evenly distributes clean, filtered air throughout the welder’s breathing zone.

Larger Curved Grinding Visor and Removable Welding Shield

The clear, curved grinding visor pioneered by the Speedglas 9100 FX Air has been upgraded! At a massive 170x104mm, the G5-01 high impact grinding visor is 15% larger than the FX Air. The welding visor can also be seamlessly detached for extended non-welding applications, reducing the helmet weight by over 35% in the process!

Tack Welding Mode for Smooth Dark-Light Switching

Tack Welding involves rapid transitions from dark to light to dark again, which over time can cause strain and damage in the human eye. The G5-01 TW welding lens offers an intermediate shade 5 when switching from dark to light, minimising eye strain and ensuring more comfortable welding overall. If an arc is not struck within 2 seconds, the lens switches back to its shade 2.5 light state.

Adjust Helmet Airflow with Climate Control

For added comfort during long shifts in hot environments, Climate Control lets you adjust the direction and amount of airflow coming into the helmet: from the top or sides, towards your face or visor, or somewhere in between. These adjustments can be made while keeping your helmet, and therefore your eye, face and respiratory protection, in place at all times.

Extra Head and Neck Coverage

The G5-01 TW provides the option to configure your head and neck protection to maximise your coverage in hard wearing environments. This extended range of head and neck covers includes fluorescent yellow for high visibility, leather for increased durability, and a selection of different sizes.
