Binzel MB EVO PRO 501 D MIG Torch – 3m, Liquid-Cooled
The Binzel MB EVO PRO 501 D is a 550 amp liquid-cooled MIG/MAG torch built for continuous heavy production welding. It's rated at 550A on CO2 and 500A on mixed gases at a 100% duty cycle — meaning it's designed to weld all day without a rest period — running 1.0–1.6mm wire, with technical data stated to EN 60974-7. This 3m version (part no. 034.0862.1) uses Binzel's WZ-2 water-cooled central connector.
The step up from air-cooled isn't just amperage. Where an air-cooled torch like the MB 36 gives you 320A at 60% duty, this one gives you 550A at 100%, and that changes what's possible: heavy structural fabrication, thick-section multi-pass work, shipbuilding, mining equipment repair, and anywhere a welder is laying metal down continuously rather than in bursts. Coolant circulating through the front end pulls heat away from the contact tip and nozzle, so consumables last significantly longer at high current than they would on an air-cooled torch pushed to its limit.
Binzel redesigned the cooling circuit and the material combination on the liquid-cooled EVO PRO torches. The cooler front end extends wear part service life and gives genuine performance reserves for high-amperage work, rather than the torch being at its ceiling whenever you are.
Handling carries over from the rest of the EVO PRO line: a two-component handle with tapered profile, optimised trigger position and ball-joint cable support that keeps the torch balanced in any position. The high-performance media hoses have a protective braid so the cable assembly stays flexible in the hand, and the handle has more internal space than the previous generation for easier servicing.
Requires a water cooler. This torch cannot be run dry — it must be connected to a working coolant circuit, either your machine's integrated cooler or a standalone unit.

Frequently asked questions
What amperage is the Binzel MB EVO PRO 501 D rated to?
550A with CO2 and 500A with mixed shielding gases, both at a 100% duty cycle.
Do I need a water cooler to run this torch?
Yes. It's liquid-cooled and must be connected to a working coolant circuit — either a machine with an integrated cooler or a standalone cooling unit. Running it without coolant will damage the torch. Use a proper welding coolant rather than plain water; straight water corrodes the circuit and won't survive a Queensland winter morning in an unheated shed.
Will it fit my welder?
It uses Binzel's WZ-2 water-cooled central connector, so your machine or wire feeder needs a water-cooled Euro outlet with coolant lines. It will not fit a standard air-cooled Euro (KZ-2) socket. If you're not sure what your machine has, give us a call with the model number.
What's the difference between the 501 and the 501 D?
Two variants of the same liquid-cooled torch with different front ends and part numbers. The plain 501 is rated slightly higher (575A CO2 / 525A mixed) while the 501 D runs a contact tip holder system that accepts M6 and M8 tips, giving you more flexibility across wire sizes. [verify — worth confirming the front-end distinction with Binzel before publishing]
What wire sizes can I run?
1.0mm to 1.6mm. This is a heavy-wire torch — if you're mostly running 0.8–1.0mm, an air-cooled MB 36 is the more sensible buy.
When is liquid cooling worth it over air-cooled?
When your duty cycle is the limit rather than your amperage. If welders are stopping because the torch is too hot to hold or you're burning through contact tips, a water-cooled torch pays for itself. For intermittent fabrication work, air-cooled is lighter and cheaper to run.
Should I choose the 3m, 4m or 5m?
3m is the pick for a fixed bay or robotic cell where the machine sits close to the work. Go to 4m or 5m if the welder needs to move around a large weldment.
